Participants receive a questioned shot pattern in a large-format printed image that allows for 1:1 comparison as well as known distance printed images. After comparing the questioned pattern with the known distance images, participants report the distance determination range. The conclusion is based solely on pattern recognition; chemical processing is not a component of this test. The questioned shot pattern and the known distance patterns are black and white images printed on large sheets of paper.
This test is included on CTS' Scope of Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17043:2010.
